Paraquat dichloride 24% SL is a non-selective, contact herbicide designed for rapid burn-down of green foliage in a variety of crops like tea, cotton, and rice. It works by causing oxidative damage during photosynthesis, leading to quick plant necrosis. The formulation is rain-fast, binding to soil to reduce residue risk, and is suitable for pre-plant or post-emergence directed applications, promoting conservation agriculture by leaving roots intact. However, due to its high toxicity, strict safety measures and directed application away from crops are essential
