Malathion 5% DP is a dust-formulated organophosphate insecticide containing 5% malathion as the active ingredient, used to control a wide range of pests including mosquitoes, flies, ants, and various crop-damaging insects like aphids. It functions as a non-systemic, broad-spectrum insecticide by inhibiting the acetylcholinesterase enzyme, which is crucial for insect nerve function, leading to paralysis and death. Common applications include public health vector control and protection of fruits, vegetables, and field crops

To use Malathion 5% DP, dust the powder onto crops or areas needing pest control, such as cotton, maize, or around foundations, using a duster. Always dust in the direction of the wind and wear full protective clothing, including gloves, masks, and goggles, to avoid inhaling the dust. Ensure adequate coverage on plant undersides and upper sides. Remember that Malathion is toxic to bees and aquatic organisms, so avoid application during bee foraging periods and keep it away from water bodies.
