• AGRIVENTURE THAYO MECTIN is a dual-action, water-dispersible granular insecticide.
• It combines the contact and translaminar action of Emamectin Benzoate with the systemic properties of Thiamethoxam.
• This formulation paralyzes and kills both chewing (caterpillars) and sucking pests.

Key Features & Benefits

• Translaminar & Systemic: Quickly absorbed into foliage, killing pests hidden on the underside of leaves.
• Rain fastness: Becomes rain-resistant within 4 hours of application.
• Phyto-tonic Effect: Promotes plant health and keeps the crop greener and stronger.

Mode of Action

• The formulation relies on a synergistic combination of two distinct mechanisms:
• Emamectin Benzoate (3.0%):
• Target: Chewing pests (like caterpillars, borers, and loopers).
• Mechanism: It enhances the activity of gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA) and opens chloride channels in the nerve and muscle cells of the insect. This floods the nervous system with chloride ions, disrupting nerve signals and causing irreversible paralysis.
• Result: Affected insects stop feeding within a few hours and die shortly after.
• Thiamethoxam (12.0%):
• Target: Sucking pests (like aphids, jassids, thrips, and whiteflies).
• Mechanism: It acts on the central nervous system by blocking the nicotinic acetylcholine receptors. This causes prolonged nerve overstimulation, leading to tremors, paralysis, and death.
• Result: It provides rapid knock-down effects and is systemic, meaning the plant absorbs it into its sap to kill pests feeding on the plant.

Crop & Disease/Pest Mapping

• Vegetables (Tomato, Brinjal, Okra, etc.)
• Cash Crops (Cotton, Chillies)
• Beverage Crops (Tea)
• Field Crops (Paddy, Maize, Soybean, Pulses)

Dosage per Acre

• 2ml/liter

Additional Information

• Waiting Period: Maintains a low Pre-Harvest Interval (PHI), making it highly suitable for vegetables.
