INTRODUCTION :-
Ø Short duration crop
Ø Excellent source of high quality protein (25%)
Ø It is consumed as a whole grain as well as "lentils".
Ø Easily digestible and hence patients like it
Ø It is also a good source of riboflavin, thiamine and vitamin C (ascorbic
acid).
Ø Being a legume crop, it has the ability to fix atmospheric nitrogen (30-40
kg/ha).
Ø Moong can be used as fodder for cattle.
