INTRODUCTION :-
Ø Brinjal is the most common tropical vegetable grown in India.
Ø It is known by many different names like Begun (Bengali), Ringna
(Gujarathi), Baingan (Hindi), Badane (Kannada), Wangum (Kashmiri), Vange
(Marathi), Baigan (Oriya), Vasuthana (Malayalam), Kathiri is called. Tamil),
Venkaya (Telugu) and Pithabhala (Sanskrit).
Ø A large number of varieties differ in size, shape and color of fruits grown
in India.
Ø Fruits that are
not ripe or fully developed are used in curries and brinjals are used in many
dishes.
